Wolpoff and Abramson froze my husband and I's joint account for my debt from a credit card issued in my name only back in November. On January 31st the court denied their motion to garnish the account due to Maryland law that prohibits this if it is a joint account. 10 days later our account has not been released. I called W&A yesterday they had no knowledge of this ruling and had no idea when they would release our account, I told them they had to because they were illegally holding it. I then called the courthouse who stated their copy of the motion was mailed January 31, and they would send another, I received mine 2 days after it was mailed W&A claims they never received notice. How long can they hold it after the ruling? Also could they legally froze it in the first place since it was a joint account, W&A is telling me my bank made the decision to freeze it and the blame is on them since the banck knew it was a joint account when the freeze was ordered. What do I need to do to ensure they release it?
