    Default Medical benefits

A friend of mine was contacted by Department of Child Services and was told that he was going to have to start having money taken out to pay for medical coverage for his kids because his ex wife complained. I thought all changes had to be authorized through the courts before DCS would withhold money, unless the non custodial parent voluntarily authorizes the withholding.

    Default Payment for Medical Care

It may be authorized under the governing court order.

You mean under the already existing court order? Which would allow her to simply file a complaint with DCS and he's hit with the withholding request?

Default Medical Costs & Child Support

Correct. The existing order may cover medical costs, which if properly documented can then be made the subject of an income withholding order. Thus, he should check the language of the order.
