Default How Often Do CC Take People to Court

I had a credit card and at one point lost my job and could no longer make the payments. I was trying to make payments to the collection agency for a while but havent in at least a year or more.. The debt is about $1,500 after intrest and fees. I have no assets. How often do CC take people to court for the debt? On my credit report it as listed as a charge off if that means anything.

I'm trying to get myself in a better place financially so I can pay it off, I'm a student, and babysit for a living.

It's hard to say what any individual collection agcy. will do. "Generally" -- They usually weigh the cost of taking the person to court against the amount owed & consider whether the person currently has any assets. However, even if they have no assets currently, they might in the future.

A charge off on the credit report is just an acct. entry - creditor charged it off but it is still owed.
