    Default Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: WA

    Good day,
I have a boyfriend that (purportedly) has a 17 yr old male child. The mother of this (bastard) child was offered child support payments years ago if she would do a DNA test to prove that this child belonged to my boyfriend. Alas, this woman left and had no more contact with my boyfriend. Now, she did stay in contact with my boyfriends mother all these years (like best friends). Come to find out this woman has stolen $50,000 out of my boyfriends mothers accounts (for over 10 yrs now) and has been found out. To make this long story short, she is now coming after my boyfriend for child support after all these years because she will be convicted for her theft if she does not pay back the monies to my boyfriends mother. I am not sure if the man that she married adopted the boy child?
I guess what I need to know is will she be able to collect back child support if she denied the DNA request them many years ago? Child services called my boyfriend today and he would not talk to them without his lawyer present...and if he does take a DNA test and we find him not the father can he then sue the woman for slander (shes already in way over her head for the theft)? I guess I am just looking for some advise here or a legal stand point. I thank you for your time.

First, please edit your post, although years ago the term "bastard" was normal, today it is not and is very derogatory. Thank you.

Your BF was smart to not talk to anyone without an attorney. He should deny paternity and request a court ordered DNA test. She won't be able to get retro support back that many years. It's likely though that any retro support would go back to the date of filing.

Your BF should get a consult soon because he'll need to be able to find out if paternity has ever been established for another father or not.

    Apologies for the derogatory slang!

Thank you for your helpful response.
