    Default Is My Divorce Legal

My question involves divorce in the State of: california

i have been married for 15 years and we have 2 children in common. about 2 years ago, i discovered that the preacher who married us was arrested for fraud and most of the records surrounding marriages he has conducted have been sealed - including mine. i cannot look into this because no one has any information. i dont remember the preachers name but when you look at my public records, nothing shows.

i ask because i am entering into a divorce and im wondering how this will effect me. my soon to be ex does have a copy of the marriage cert, but that is the only place it exists - aside from the sealed file. so if it is determined that this preacher is a criminal (which i am assuming he is) what does that mean for me and do i need to change anything about how i file for this divorce?

    thank you

You can file for divorce. You can demand a copy of the marriage certificate from your husband through "discovery" during the divorce case.
