Unhappy Original Apartment Not Ready, Now They Want Me in Another Unit

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: maryland

I am due to move-in on March 14th. They just called me yesterday to tell me that the apartment that I signed my lease on isn't available anymore because they stopped renovations! A new property management company took over last Friday & stopped all current renovations! SO they are now telling me a week before I am supposed to move in! Shouldn't they have already had it renovated since I'm supposed to be moving in next week??I had a lease signed & deposit put down for almost 2 months now, waiting for this apartment. Now they say that it isn't available & they only have a first floor or second floor ready for move in... I signed for the 3rd floor. This just seems ridiculous to me and I would like some advice as to what my rights are. Its a week away & now I have no apartment....any input would help! Thank you!!

You can either rent one of the other units or, in all likelihood, tell them that as they can't deliver per your contract you're finding an apartment elsewhere.
