This is all based on FICO score. A bankruptcy will give you a very very low score. The FICO system was developed to be FAIR to everyone.
Your score represents your credit profile. This way lenders can not discriminate based on race, religion, or any other parts of your life.
A fico score of under 620 is considered poor.
620 to 679 is fair.
680 to 749 is good.
over 749 is excellent.
This applies to everyone. After a bankruptcy your scores are usually in the low 400's. The only way to recover is to take out SECURED credit cards and pay them off every month. In 2 years you will have a mid 650 score.
