My question involves a security deposit in the State of: Massachusetts
I am moving out on March 15th. I gave my notice on February 1st. My landlord says if I pay her 1/2 a months rent for March she can keep 1/2 of my security deposit because I won't be there for the whole month. Can she do this? Also, she never gave me the account # for the security deposit. She showed me the book and I know the bank, but I don't have the acct #. Also, when I moved in we never did a statement of condition. Does she have any grounds keeping 1/2 my security deposit and can I actually demand my whole deposit back because I never had the acct #? Thank You
