My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois
Sorry for this re-thread, but I thought I should elaborate on what happened to me.
I'm 17 and I am currently under supervision for a disorderly conduct case for underage drinking, blown at 0.03. This occurred about 7-8 months ago. I just finished everything to get it expunged. I took the classes, and I actually did 100 community service hours rather than the 40 they assigned me. I paid all of the fees and what not.
I was just with friends and they happened to apprehend me for taking a $12 bottle of deodorant. They grabbed my shoulder and said, we're afraid we'll have to take that back and you'll have to come with us. We went into the back room, they took my bags and searched them. I kept on apologizing and kept on offering to pay any fines they had along with the deodorant and It was a mistake. They ignored me, took my information, and labeled me as a Juvenile in their records rather than an adult. (Thank god) They asked me why I stole. I said I don't know. I did, peer pressure. It was impulsive. They called the cops as they soon came. I stayed quiet. He asked why I stole it and I said I don't know. I stayed quiet. Then he cuffed and arrested me and took me into his squad car and we went to the jail. They took my information again, fingerprinted me and took pictures. I was placed under a $1000 bond with a 10% release. They had the manager come in and sign a sheet of some sort. I was given a letter by the woman saying I have fines coming in the mail and I need to pay for them. I had my mom go into my savings and take $100 as I believe I should pay for my mistakes.
Can anyone with any experience help me? What can happen since I'm under supervision. I really don't wanna go to Juvie. I feel so bad. I even apologized to the manager after she came to the station.
And any advice in helping my case?
I know it is wrong now, I will never do it again. It was under peer pressure. I just don't wanna leave my parents.
