My question involves real estate located in the State of: Wisconsin
11 years ago the rental house burned down on a 100 foot wide by 200 foot deep strip of land between my home and business. All that remains is a hole, a crumbling rock foundation, and a dead ash tree which has fallen down. We have mowed and trimmed the lot for the entire time. Our swingset has been moved there also for the entire time. The owner has listed the property for 16 to 20 thousand dollars and obviously no one has bought it since it is completely landlocked by us. We even moved an old junk boat to our property because of the eye sore it was. Can we make any claim to this land, everyone thinks we own it anyway? Every time a real estate broker sign would go up on the lot, we were asked hundreds of times why we are selling our business...which we werent. I am not sure what the tax status is on the property.
