My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: California
My son (age 29) is in the hospital and needs surgery. As he was admitted, one of the first physicians that we met very carefully explained that this procedure was unique and my son should go to a regional hospital with more expertise. He emphatically said that he would not let his family members have that type of surgery here. He did not believe that the surgeons there were qualified to do it. That he would take them to the regional hospital.
My son was in great pain and needed pain medicine immediately so first aid was administered.
But the hospital administration and surgeons refuse to allow a transfer. My son wants us to break him out and take him to the other hospital.
Is this legal. We have Blue Cross PPO. There is no problem with billing. There is a problem with treatment.
Since he tried to leave, my son reports that the staff have been abusive.
How do I deal with this?
The above statements are our perception of facts and my opinion. Please no lawsuits against us for seeking help.
