Question Is There a Website to Run Your Own Background Check

My question involves a background check in the State of: OH

Does anyone know of a legitimate website on which you could order a background check on yourself?

    Thank you.

Yes, there are several. Many, however, are not legit. I had used Intelius to run checks on a couple potential employees, one of which had already admitted to one arrest. When what was supposed to be full searches were completed absolutely nothing showed up. I've also paid for the same service with Inteligator which also turned out to be a scam. If you pay for a bgc on someone whom you know has at least 1 arrest, you would assume that it would show up. Right? Or is it possible that an arrest in a small town 18 years ago would not show up? I didnt think that would be the case. I do not own a large corporation with endless financial resources so I can not afford to rely on a service that doesnt actually do its job.

    Here's the thing.

You can run twenty background checks on yourself if you want to.

However, contrary to what many people believe, not all background checks are created equal. Unless a potential employer asks exactly the same questions as you do, they will get different results. If you run twenty different checks, chances are you'll get 20 different results.

So running a check on yourself (and I'm not saying don't do it - there are legitimate reasons to do so) is not going to tell you what information an employer is going to see. There is NO such thing as a standard check that always gives exactly the same results.
