My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Scotland, United Kingdom.
Just wanted some advice, i've had a look on some websites and wasn't sure about the exact law on fathers rights in the UK.
I'm 17 and the father is 22, no judgement please. Me and the father both split up when i was newly pregnant. He tried to force abortion upon me so did his family. He has been abusive both physically and mentally. He often comes round to my house when he's drunk and starts arguments with me over silly things concerning my son.
I'm still pregnant at the moment, 23weeks gone so my son isn't born yet but the father has done absolutely nothing but cause me bother.
He's got mental health issues due to taking drugs
He's an alcoholic
He's abusive
He owns 2 fierce boxer dogs
His house is VERY unclean and he leaves his medication lying around
He doesn't have a job, nor has he contributed anything towards my son
Hasn't came to any ultrasounds/midwife appts nor asked about them
There are a few other issues but everytime he's been abusive or such i've written it down in a diary of what happened etc. I've got witnesses of his behaviour. He said if i don't allow him have a say in his sons life he'll take me to court, the thing is i don't want to go down that route, but i don't want him in my sons life, i don't trust him. I said he could have visitation but only supervised by me and one of my parents, he doesn't agree to this.
Does he actually have rights? Only answer if you know, i don't want to waste money on a lawyer at this stage.
