My question involves an eviction in the state of: Indiana
We wrote a check for rent which bounced for the month of Feb. We didn't hear anything about it until almost 2 weeks later when a paper was shoved under our door stating that we owed $150 in fees to be paid in less than 24 hours. When we called the next day to inform them that we didn't have that much to give them that day, we were told that they had already contacted their lawyer and that we now owe an additional $250 in legal fees. Now we have a court date for eviction. I need to know if there is anything we can do to stop the eviction and if they are allowed to take such action in that amount of time.
Thanks
