Default How to Protect Myself from Child Support as a Sperm Donor

My question involves paternity law for the State of: California

Girl-friend, not lover, wants a baby by male-friend. As that male friend how can I help her and protect myself from child support. This is a conceptual agreement, the child will not carry my name, and I will have nothing to do with it.

But for my piece of mind I would like something in writing stating that she will not hold me liable for anything. We both agree to this arrangement.

There is no way for the sperm donor in this case to protect himself. The child deserves to be supported by both parents. The court will come after the father of the child, should the mother ever go on state assistance or file for child support.

If she wants to have a child with a sperm donor, she needs to go to a sperm bank.

There is nothing that can be drafted up that will negate his financial responsibility to his child.

    Agreed.

If you want to make a baby, you get to pay for a baby.
