My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: South Carolina

I filed Chapter 13 in Nov 2007. Unable to keep up with my trustee payments, my lawyer filed to convert my case to a Chap 7 a few weeks ago. My court date is March 10th. As part of the Chap 7 I have decided to surrender my vehicle. My question is, how long from the time of my filing will my bank take to reposess my vehicle? And how long does it normally take for a Chap 7 case to be discharged? I only have one vehicle and unsecured debt, no real estate. I'm trying to figure out a plan of action for purchasing a new vehicle. I'm worried that my bank will repossess my vehicle before i'm in a position to purchase a new one (i.e. my case is not yet discharged). That being said, although I know I will probably have to pay a relatively high interest rate, am I allowed to get a loan for a second hand car prior to my Chap 7 case being discharged? Or will I be forced to pay cash for a "beater with a heater". Sorry for the rambling but I would appreciate any insight/advice you can give!
