Default Adverse Possession on the Size of a Dwelling

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Maryland
How about a situation where it's the size of the house? This property is located in Maryland. I bought my house 3 years ago as a 4 bedroom home. It was appraised as so & I have a Legal Survey that is 18 years old showing & stating the size of the home as it is today. I am now applying for the permits to demo this home to replace it with a new 4 bedroom Manufatured house & the county says they have no record of the original single wide home being increased in size from a 800 sq. ft. to a 1500 sq. ft. 4 bedroom home. Can you give me assistance in how to get around this? the stste officials are visiting my property this week to look for ways around this issue. weather this is an Adverse Possession?
    Thank you,
    Mgee1960
