Last night I went to a bar and was drinking (underage). Once we left the bar we were pulled over for turning around in a parking lot where an alarm had gone off, and the cop decided to search the car. Three of my friends were unable to get into the bar so they left and smoked (marijuana) while we were inside. They came back to pick us up and we were on our way home and thats when we were pulled over.
I was asleep in the backseat of the car and woke up to found that we had been pulled over. The cop was asking for the "dope" and my friends handed him a half smoked blunt and some other stuff, and I was just hanging out in the back.
He opened my car door and asked me where the "dope" was (I hate when they use that term) and I told him I didn't smoke (Because I don't. I hate smoking), and thats when he pulled me out of the car and arrested me. I wasn't given a field test, breathalyzer test, or any time of day. He didn't read my Miranda Rights as he cuffed me and put me in his car. Eventually, one of my other friends who had been drinking was put in the car with me as well.
I've been given an underage consumption ticket before (Which I got out of with community service), but during that time I was not put under arrest (I was 18) and I was given a ticket.
I spent 12 hours in jail and was released today at 3ish when my mom and dad came and bailed me out. I have a court date sometime.
Now I really don't mind to pay a ticket, but under these cirsumstances I think it's a little fishy.
The kids who were smoking handed him the weed and were off on their way as my friend and I had to spend the night in the slammer. I don't understand why they got away for having something "illegal" and I was put in jail for sleeping in the back seat. He said they were going to "Burn the evidence," lol.
Is there something wrong with this scene? Or is it just me?
