My question involves an eviction in the state of: Washington
My brother recently died. He owned a mobile home in King County, Washington. He lived in a mobile home park and paid lot rent to the park owner. He allowed somone to live in the home rent free. About one month prior to his death, she left without removing any of her belongings and has no forwarding address. She abandoned my very ill brother and her things and has been living elsewhere for nearly two months. We now need to sell the home in order to pay my deceased brother's debts. She does not respond to our attempts to contact her. She does not answer her cell phone and we do not know her address. We are only able to communicate with her through one of her family members. Her family is very sympathetic to us and cooperative.Today her family and ours boxed up her belongings and set them outside under cover. Unbeknownst to us she was watching and called the police department telling them we had illegally removed her things. The police indicated that it was her residence and we had to evict her properly through the court system at which point they stood by while we returned all items. Keep in mind she has not slept in the home for over two months. The park owner said she is not on the lease and pays no rent. What can we do?
