My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Indiana
I moved into a house in Indiana with a year lease. Although the lease states that I move in the property in "AS IS" condition, we did have a verbal agreement as well that he would make the repairs that were necessary. He stalled for a long time. I continued to bug him. Then he asked me to find someone to give him estimates on the oven that didnt work, and the upstairs bathroom sink that didnt work also. I got someone, and he agreed to have the oven fixed. 5 months after I moved in. The upstairs bathroom sink needs new pipes, and I assume it is expensive, so he hasnt fixed it, or even bothered to address it with me. I have been in the house 8 months and the lease is for a year. I dont want to give him one more cent of rent. I have paid him religously every month, and he doesnt even bother to respond to emails, which I can see that he opens. What are my options???
