Default How long before charges are filed

    Hi Aaron,

My cousin was arrested for shoplifting about 6 weeks back, wasn't given any ticket at that time and was told that he would receive something in the mail in 2 weeks. He hasn't received anything yet except for the civil demand which he already paid. Is it a usual time before charges are filed ? His location is Macomb county Michigan.

    Default Shoplifting Arrest

If the police were involved, he probably will ultimately get a summons from the court. He can contact the district court to see if his name is in their system yet.
