Default Disorderly Persons in New Jersey

My question involves criminal law for the state of: nj
Is under $200 worth of retail theft a disorderly persons charge in NJ ?
DO store usually pursue shoplifters who have gotten away with theft under $200 (investigations after they leave store )

    Dude, really.

    Calm down.

Posting another in a long series of "am I going to get busted" rants really isn't going to change anything.

from what I understand a theft charge is a theft charge. Now your attorney may legally maneuver and get it reduced to a disorderly conduct charge when it comes up for arraignment, but if you didnt get caught thats not your worry at this point is it?
