I had a leased vehicle from GM in 2005 when I had A-1 credit. My twin granddaughters were diagnosed with autism and I have had so many financial problems along with my daughter that they do not bare repeating. Anyway to make a long story short, we went under financially bad. There are no words to describe how much money it takes to take care of twin 8yr old autistic girls. The government helps some, but there is no amount of money that we could get that would cover the expenses we have while dealing with this issue.
A reliable car is always necessary for such a situation. At the time, I had the only job in the house. My daughter had to stay at home to care 24hrs for the autistic children. My sister is a nurse and trys to help but has her own family to deal with. When I had to file a chapter 7, I was so scared of only one thing....getting another car after the leased vehicle was up. Well guess what, I had good reason to be scared. GM started asking for the leased vehicles back recently when it appeared that they really were going to go under. They kept sending me letters and different things trying to intimidate me. Well it finally worked cause I went in to see what I could do for the next few months to be able to buy another car since there was no money in the bank and all I had to depend on was their kind hearts in understanding my situation.
Well, no matter what type of homework I did, nobody would finance me...not GM, not the dealership, not JP MOrgan Chase who originally said yes, but I found out later that they were scratched, and I ended up with Crapital One...lol.
Worst finance group out of the lot and I know they were on my bankruptcy. After much hassel, I was charged a 23 percent interest rate over 72 months on a 2006 GM vehicle with 8500 miles on it at a payment of 622.00 a month. I already know I.m going to be upside down and I.m sure this will be the biggest screwing I have ever had. Is this what we are to expect from everybody? I just got out of debt by filing bankruptcy, now I.m back in it. Was there anything else I could have done?
