My question involves malpractice by a lawyer in the state of: WI
I hired a lawyer to file me for Chap 7 Bankruptcy. While we were in the process I went to court to represent myself agaisnt a unpaid medical bill. After two lawyers told me I did not have a chance to win, I suprisingly did and my bill got reduced from 14,000 to 10,000.
The judge ruled I pay the 7500 within a week and the remaining within 60 days. So i got back to my lawyer and she advised me to filie for "Chapter 128" which would give me 3 years to amoritize the bill. I explained to her throughly that part of the judgement was I pay the 7500 within a week and the remaining within 60 days. She said I was fine.
Turns out she was wrong. Two weeks later I got a new judgment signed by the new judge for 17,000. I accomplished so much only to have this lawyer screw it all up for me. Any suggestions?
