My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Michigan

Hi, my husband and I want to take our family to TN for spring break vacation. My husband and his ex-wife have joint physical and legal custody of their 5 and 6 year old boys. There is nothing in the court papers about taking the children across state lines, but the ex-wife states we have to have her permission for our vacation to take place. If it is not in the paper work is there any laws for the state of Michigan that will prevent us from going. We have MANY disagreements with her about EVERYTHING, this is just one more thing in a long list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
