All I am asking about is the language in this contract, nothing else. I have taken into account the status of my job, zoning, etc..., but what I am asking is is there any specific language in this contract that they could use to legally deny me my request? Perhaps I have not worded my question like I wanted, but you seem to be missing my main issue. I have seen other contracts that specifically allow or deny home based businesses. How does it work when you bring something up that is not covered in the contract? Does it default to the owner, the tenant, or is it up in the air? For instance, if a contract doesn't specifiy whether you can have pets or not can they stop you from having pets? Who decides if the title "residential" is enough to disallow a home business? Is it up to the owner or is there statute somewhere that talks about this?

I realize I could talk to a lawyer, but it is not worth the money since if they are really against the idea I will not pursue it, whether they can deny it legally or not. The hand that feeds and all. I am just doing some background research and was hoping someone here might have some experience with my question. I have asked for permission, but the meeting to discuss it is not for three weeks so I decided to look into it a little myself. I am just looking for knowledgeable opinions, not binding legal documentation.
