Default How is Green Card Status Affected by Change in Nationality

a friend who has a US greencard is currently going through the process of getting US citizenship - but the country he is now living in has cleared him for citizenship in that country - he is wondering if accepting citizenship from that country will affect his greencard status or whether it will create any problem in obtaining US citizenship...any help or information is appreciated

He's not living in the United States and is actively pursuing citizenship in another country? That sounds to me like abandonment of his permanent residency. You didn't share the details, but odds are, in association with his application for citizenship in the other country, he has claimed to be a permenent residency of that country as well.
