My question involves criminal law for the state of: illinois.

My bf got arrested for battery in cook county. what happened him and a friend got arrested for beating up a guy saturday afternoon, in front of the clinic they go too. the guy they beat up though decided to press charges, so he waited out front for them in front of the clinic and the police showed up and arrested them both the following Monday. He has simple battery charge, 500 dollar bond, he has court feb 11th. Unfortuanately he has a record, but no other battery charges, on his record.
i talked to someone and thinks he will get time served, and get out after his court date next week? What is your expert opinion.

Perchance, a methadone clinic?

His disposition will depend in no small part on his record, which I suspect includes a mess of theft, battery, disorderly conduct, and drug charges. He should consult a public defender.

the answer to your ? is yes. personally i think its stupid, that the guy didnt press the charges, til that following monday. what a moron. yeah he has majority of just burglary and just thefts. that is all, no prior battery convictions.
