Default Accepting Job Offer - Legal Contract

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Indiana

I have accepted a job offer by signing the offer letter. This letter was without any contract or any details in case I back out. But now I have got another offer which is better in all terms. I want to opt for option 2. I know ethically it is wrong to back out from my earlier acceptance but I just have to select the best for my career sake. When I signed the offer letter, did I actually get into any contract with the company? In other words, is their any legal implication in backing out from an accepted offer??? Please help me in this...time is ticking and I am stuck..!!!!

Default Re: Accepting Job Offer - Legal Contract

Offer letters rarely if ever constitute contracts. If you're really worried about it, show it to a local attorney, but the chances that you are contractually bound to the first offer are very slim.
