My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
I have a public defender assigned to my felony case for Grand Theft in Florida... ($600 worth of merchandise from Sam's Club). I've called her but she never gets back to me. I wanted to know would she be able to get my charges reduced to a misdemeanor or dropped completely... or will she most likely tell me to plead guilty and serve jail time???
I also wanted to know would I be able to contact the State Attorney's office myself and have the charges reduced or dropped??? I've stolen from this store before, is it possible that they will go back and review the tapes, and add new charges to the one I already have???? I know that the State Attorney hasn't filed the charges yet because there is no court date. Is there a possibility that they are considering dropping or lowering the charges? and would it be wise to contact the judge presiding over my case and beg her not to send me to jail? Although I have no court date, they listed the judge who will be ruling over my case... I'm not sure how the public defender will handle this case so I'm really scared... Help Please....
