    Talking MIP Prosecution in Michigan

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

When I was 20 (I am almost 24 now) I received an MIP after having two beers. I, unfortunately, received the maximum penalty of one year probation and 25 hours of community service. Anyway, I went through both without a hitch and after it was all done it was, supposedly, removed from my record. I am almost 90% sure that the paperwork I was given after my probation was through said the offense was expunged from my record upon completion. Is this automatic expungement common and if so is it okay for me to say on a job application that I was never convicted of a crime? I lost the paperwork from my probation during my most recent move.

    Thank you.

To verify what happened, check the court records, ask the probation office if they can verify the status of your disposition, or order your record from the Michigan State Police.
