Criminal Charges and Lawsuit Charge

My question involves criminal law for the state of: maryland

i am being charged for shoplifting at Kohls. I also have a pending case for a car accident last year coming up in court. my question is, can my lawyer for my accident case find out about this? and can the court also find out? will it effect my car accident case?

well, first the lawyer is a friend of mine and i would be embarrased. but it should not harm the law suit?

i live in Maryland, my PD said i should just plea quilty? can i trust him versus a lawyer? also, in notes, it says i had items on me and i did not return, but cops seached me right there and did not find them. how could she say i did not return them when they did not find them, the even checked my car and did not find them?
