Hello,
My father lives in a senior community. He does not drive his car that often, and only uses it when necessary to go to the grocery store, as he is disabled and uses a wheelchair, a cane and a walker.
His landlord issued a notice on everyones door that they are no longer able to leave their car parked inside the property for more than 72 hours without moving it, otherwise it will be towed.
I find this insane, especially when one is paying rent for an apartment and parking is included for the residents. Seniors do not go out that often, and some, like my dad, are mostly housebound except for the occassional trip to the grocery store.
What if my father were to go in the hospital? On Vacation? Will he come home to find that his car is towed? I understand this 72 hour rule on public roads, but in a private apartment complex where tenants pay rent?
Someone let me know if this is legal and enforcable. Also, they state that it is a "rule" they have, but in the lease I can not find any such wording for this.
Thank you!
