    Default breaking my lease

I am currently in a year lease agreement. My landlord will not let me out of the lease. When I had a roommate my landlord refused to put her on the lease which left me and my mother *co-signer" to the full lease terms. Now the situation of me wanting to get out of the lease was my roommate stopped paying her rent, and I 8 months pregnant at the time couldn't find a new roommate or afford the whole rent plus utlities. I had moved out but I am still paying the rent. My lanlord knows this and is trying to find a new tenant. Though I am in a bind. I have told him several times I am unemployeed now, and expecting a child very soon and can no longer afford the financial obligation to the lease. Niether can my mother. and I needed some advice.

On the other had the father of my child is in Arizona.. He just recently lost his job and is trying to also find a loop hole to get out of his year lease so he can move back up to Ma. and be with me to raise a family. If there is an easier way to get him out of his lease then mine, this basically gives the oppurtunity to move back in to my apartment with out consiquence..

    any suggestions?

Default Getting Out of a Lease

Why did you move out? Wouldn't that increase your overall housing cost?

Unfortunately, wanting to move or financial hardship are not ordinarily valid grounds for getting out of a lease. The purpose of the lease, after all, is to ensure to the tenant that they can stay in the premises for the lease term at the agreed-upon price, while assuring that the landlord will receive the agreed-upon rent in return for the premises.
