My question involves paternity law for the State of: California
I'm dual citizen, living in the US for over 7 years, expecting a baby. The child's biological father is in Poland at the moment, and does not have any type of US residency. I am a dual citizen [US-Polish], too. He wants to be present at the birth and sign the Voluntary Paternity Acknowledgment. He also wants the child the get his last name, and be on the Birth Certificate.
Our relationship is not going well, so I'd like to see what difference does it make if I agree and let him sign his Paternity Acknowledgement request and let the baby have his last name or if I don't.
We are not married, in fact, my divorce [with an other man] has just been finalized 3 months ago.
I'd really need to know if he has the right to force us to move to Poland in any case, or how the custody & visitation rights are handled in this particular situation.
THANKS FOR ALL HELP!
