My question involves criminal records for the state of: Michigan
I have a felony and a misdemenor, and thus do not qualify for expungement. I had an attorney working to try to find a way around it for the past year. My understanding was that he was trying to get one of the prosecutors for either the felony of misdemenor to drop the charges/conviction. One was a city and the other the county prosecutor. Supposedly the City prosecutor was willing to but was unable to. Can anyone offer any insight as to how the proseuctor can do that? Is it possible for a prosecutor to drop it? I was told that the county prosecutor did this for someone else and the AG scolded him for it. Any other thoughts?
