Default Bringing A Small Claims Against A Landlord

I live in MA. I am half-way through my 1 year lease, in which my landlord collected a security deposit. She supposedly never put the deposit in a separate account, nor will she give me any evidence of what account it is in. She lives on the 2 floor, and is a very bad landlord. I dont trust her one bit. Is it worthwhile for me to bring her to small claims before the end of my lease, to possibly obtain my SD back plus interest?

    Default Improperly Held Security Deposit

I doubt that you could get the deposit returned before the end of your tenancy; I think at best you could get a court to compel her to open a proper escrow account.
