Default Talked to a Bankruptcy Lawyer Today

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: WA

So i finished talking to a Bankruptcy lawyer and I told him my situation and he told me that I should file for a bankruptcy and he told me to stop paying my car and my payday loan and stop my direct deposits to my bank acct. He even told me to open a new one. I told him I pay my car and insurance online and have some automatic deductions from my account. Is this normal or is there something wrong with this picture?

If you don't trust the advice of your lawyer, don't retain that lawyer - there are lots of bankruptcy lawyers around. I don't know anything about your circumstances, so I'm not able to second-guess your lawyer.
