    Default Possible Abuse

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: California

When my step sons biological mom and my husband were together, she supposedly punched him in the chest a couple times "to toughen him up". There was no police record or anything like that, but we do have 4 witnesses who say they saw her do this to him when he was 2 years old. Does this hold up in court, or not because there's nothing on paper?

I get the impression that the alleged abuse happened quite a long time ago, correct?

Exactly how long ago, and why didn't your husband go to the police or CPS at the time?

Never mind. I just read your other threads. from those, it appears that the alleged abuse happened at least more than 4 years ago. In addition, you and husband are worried that Mom now wants custody, does not pay CS and you are asking about adoption also. Since your husband, did NOT file any complaints at the time, trying to bring it up now will probably cause more problems than it would help.

Please, stop posting new threads every time you have a question. It's much better to have everything in 1 thread, that way we can know all of the details without searching for them.

Sorry about the mulitiple threads, I"ve never done these kinds of things. I was trying to ask questions in the threads that has meaning to my question. Sorry....

The alleged abuse happened 6 years ago. My husband didn't find out until recently because his family say that they didn't want to cause any more problems than there already were (they didn't have a good relationship).

My step son doesn't remember anything, but it makes me question her parenting and ability to stay calm.

He definately should not bring up the past alleged abuse, it has been too long complicated by step son not remembering anything.
