Default Reckless Driving in New Jersey

I'm 17 and I have my provisional license driving for 51 weeks, last week before my 18th birthday, in the state of NJ. This morning i was late for work and i had a bad history of coming on time to open up for work leaving people to wait. While i was going down Old Stage Road, i passed a few cars in a one lane no passing lane going around 70 mph. I passed an off duty cop on his way to work in his GMC Yukon XL. At the red light he pulled up to my side, knocked on my window and told me to pull over at the corner. I didn't get a ticket but he said I will be charged with reckless driving and a summoning will be sent to my house shortly.

Will my license be taken away? If so how long?
    Should I get a lawyer?
What can I do to lower the amount of points I get?

Yes, this is my first offense.
I really appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and help. Thank you.

Just to make sure I understand...

You passed three cars on a two lane road in a no passing zone?
