Default Green Card Holder Wants to Marry an Italian

I am green card holder and want to get marry to may Italian girl friend that lives in Italy.

Since it would take long time for her to get the green card if we get marry in Italy we are planning to do that in USA.

What would be better: to bring her to USA as an intern or with a student visa OR just to let her come as a tourist then get marry in NY.

How long time dose it approximately take or her till she receive her green card in every case?

    Your response is very appreciated

You're probably looking at a five year wait between when you apply for a Green Card for your spouse and when she gets it. If you're eligible for citizenship, once you naturalize you'll qualify more quickly. But it looks like a Green Card is going to be a partial and imperfect solution for you.
