    Default Adverse Possession

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Kentucky there is an acre of land that joins my property(actually i own three-fourths around it). it used to be and old hunters club. for the past 10-years it has not been used by this club. all of the charter members have passed. the deed is to the hunters club. no one's name is on the deed. i have paid the taxes on the property for the last two years. prior to that it was being paid by another club who used it. i would like to buy the property, but no one knows who can sell it. i own the drive way into the property. can you give me a direction? thanks

Do not pay the taxes on it. Wait for the land to go up for auction by the county for non payment of real estate taxes. You can then purchase the land at the tax sale.

In some states, paying taxes may be advantageous for you if you were wanting to aquire this parcel.

Go see a real estate attorney about that.

As far as tracking down current ownership, if the County Assessor is sending the tax bills to you, they won't be much help. Try a local title company.
