My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Nebraska.
Hi, well basically, i moved into an apartment on Sep 6th/2008 which is what it states on my lease. The lease agreement was for 12 months starting on Sep 1st/2008 until Aug 31st/2009. Then as i read more into it, i noticed my lease states that i am to pay $525/ month starting on Oct 1st/2008 to Sep 31st/2009. I know that i moved in on Sep 6th of 2008 and my lease should start either then or the beginning of the month which is exactly what it should have been. This means that from Sep 6th until Sep 30th i was living in the apartment while not on the contract dates. They gave me the keys to the apartment, i payed them the rent for the month of september, its just simply an error in the contract terms.
My question is, can i go to the landlord and tell them that they need to fix the contract immediately or would they say that the contract has been signed and over with? I shouldnt have to stay in the apartment for another whole month because of their error and i have proof that i moved in on Sep 6th of 2008. Can i hold this against them if they refuse to fix my lease agreement?
