My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida. My son applied for a commutation of sentence in October 2006. He had to file a waiver, which was accepted & sent on to the next step in the process. Since that time (Feb. 07) we have heard NOTHING! I have spoken with the head at the Clemency board several times but always only get the canned response of "we do what we feel is best...." but cannot get anyone to tell me how long it can possibly take to even find out if a hearing will be granted. The "workload information" on their site hasn't been updated since 2006 so that's no help. To my knowledge, not one person who wrote a recommendation for him have been contacted so I'm not even sure if the investigation process has begun. All I can do is keep checking the Agenda for each meeting to see if his name appears but I would think he would be contacted with news either way if he will get a hearing. Does everyone gets this treatment in Florida, or just those who do not hire an attorney for this process?

FRUSTRATING!
