    Question Emancipation Law

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: I am 17 years old and am currently living in north carolina.I am having a baby in july, Does me having a child emancipate me or is my mother still allowed to get benifits for me such as medicaid, foodstamps, and child support. And is there any way that my mother could collect any extra benifits for my child after it is born?

If you had read the postings at the beginning as you were instructed to, you would already know that pregnancy and/or maternity DOES NOT EMANCIPATE YOU. Pregnancy will emancipate you for medical purposes - you will have the right to make your own decisions, with the help of your doctor, about your medical care and that of your baby. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH ANY OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS. Pregnancy not only does not emancipate you, it makes it almost certain that you will not qualify to be emancipated.
