    Default Class C Misdemeanor

My question involves criminal law for the state of: TEXAS.

My wife and I had an argument back in 2003 and I called the police to try to get her to calm down but I was arrested and taken to jail. I misunderstood when the officer told me that I had 12 days to take care of this problem and thought I had 20, long story short I ended up with a Class C Misdemeanor, Simple Assault on my record even though my wife never pressed charges ( I was the one who called the cops!!!).
The problem now is that I have been unable to find a job that pays a decent salary (I have an MBA) since leaving my last employer and I'm also having a hard time with Immigration as the naturalization process that I'm going through has been prolonged due to this problem; I was hired by my last employer a year after this incident and that company said that since it was a minor offense it didn't matter but since leaving that company I have been told by 3 other companies that they could not extend me an offer for employment because of my criminal record.

Other than this incident, I had never been arrested or had any kind of legal problems other than 3-4 traffic tickets that were dismissed. My question is if there is anything that can be done to somehow get rid of this offense or somehow get it sealed, my current job requires a special permit which I will not be able to renew unless my application for naturalization is approved within the next 2 months.

My apologies for such a lengthy question but just trying to give as many details as possible, thanks for all the help.

You were convicted? Then the only way to get an expunction is if you first get a pardon.

Yes, to this day; every time I try to get a Disposition of the court I just get the same incident report. Again, I never showed in court until after 3 weeks and have never been able to talk to anybody other than a lady at the front desk. I appreciate your help, SPEEDY
