    Default Change of Court Date

My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Colorado
I managed to get myself a careless driving ticket trying to avoid someone coming into my lane. I swerved to avoid the other car and ended up going down a hill, over a retaining wall. I plan on trying to plea my ticket down. My concern is my original court date was 01/31/09 and then they moved it up to 01/07/09. Is this typical? Should I be concerned?

Default Re: Change of Court Date

Is it typical? No, in that most court dates occur as originally scheduled and, once a court date is mailed, a rescheduled date will usually be after the original date. Is it cause for concern? Not unless it creates a scheduling problem for you.

Odds are the first court date conflicted with somebody's schedule - the judge's vacation, the officer's attending training, etc.
