    Default Predatory Lending

My question involves a banking matter in the State of: Arizona. What are the steps needed to file a complaint regarding Predatory lending?

    Thank you...

Go to Arizona's Attorney General's website and submit a complaint form.

You can find more info at

    http://www.azag.gov/consumer/Predatory_Lenders_Book.pdf

If your complaint is specific to your mortgage with a state regulated bank, you can contact the Arizona State Banking Dept. at 602-255-4421 or at http://www.azbanking.gov. For banks regulated by other entities (federal banks, credit unions, etc.). you'll have to contact their governing bodies.

Thank you for the quick response... When contacting a lender regarding the possible Predatory Lending complaint, should a copy of the complaint be address to the mortgage company's legal department? Should the intention to file a complaint be made aware to the mortgage company, to see if an agrrement can be reached?

Thank you again for the support...

Personally, I wouldn't notify them...why give them time to get their ducks in a row (and files to get "lost") if the Attorney General's office might want to investigate them?

Same with notifying the mortgage company - if you've already tried to resolve and issue and didn't get it solved, all you do by notifying them that you're going to file a complaint is either a) make them shrug, or b) worst case scenario, open the door for them to later claim that you were trying to strong arm/blackmail them by making threats to file a report (which they'll of course claim to be false).

If you have a legit complaint against them, then make it and let authorities do their thing. If not, don't.
