Emancipation at age 17

Im 17 and need to leave my house!! I get into verbal and sometimes physical fights with my dad. he is one of the meanest people you can ever meet. I have called the cops on him for hitting me, but they said thats how he disiplines and i should listen to my father. He picks fights with me all the time and yells at me till im in tears then spits at me. I have done nothing wrong and am a good kid. I work all the time just so i dont have to be at home. I am always scared to go home cuz i dont know what i have done wrong for that day. I shouldnt have to live like this if i dont have to. I have a place to go and i cant stand living with my parents anymore. i need to get out!!!

Minnesota has no emancipation statute, but there is case law suggesting that a minor may emancipate through lawful marriage or through parental consent.
