I am 16 years old and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I was wondering if under these conditions I would be able to get emancipated:
-I am living away from my parents and with my boyfriend's family under both adults permission.
-My mother will help me get emancipated because she is going to prison (most likely) in March for drug related charges.
-My boyfriend's mtoher is willing to vouch for my character and help me financially if needed.
-I don't have a job, but I can get one with little to no trouble if needed, although it may not be enough to support myself in the way of getting my own apartment, but I could contribute to paying bills or even 'rent' where I am staying.
-I don't have the money for a lawyer.
- I make OK grades but they have gone up spectacularly since moving from my mothers.
-My father will probably not want me to be emancpated, however, I don't want to live with him because he lives in a one bedroom apartment with two other people, has an unstable marriage and job, has a CPS strain against him sayin I am unable to live with him (although the time has lapsed/expired), went to court for attempted murder (but was not convicted), and I am of legal age and choose not to live with him.
Considering all these factors, is it even worth it to try and file for emancipation?
